Morton Confidence in defeat

Saturday left a bitter taste in the mouth. Disappointed at the overall result, Morton fans still applauded their players off the field despite the 2-1 defeat by Dundee United.

In the opening 45 minutes, neither side created many opportunities, the game only really sparking into life in the final 30 minutes.

The defeat prevented Jim Duffy’s men from winning their third consecutive league match – but certainly hasn’t disheartened the manager or the fans.

Even as the players trudged off the park, I felt even more confident than I did following our victory against Dunfermline. This team are winners, and they’re going to have another strong season. I just know it.
