Record run: Unicorns, superheroe­s and kids join fun as 30,000 pound the streets of Glasgow

Race organisers say 30,000 people took to the streets of Glasgow for a record weekend of running events.

The Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run half marathon was clinched by Chris Thomson in 62.44 minutes after three days of events for all ages and abilities. Flomena Daniel was first woman over the line with a time of 70.17. Events lasted all weekend with thousands taking part in a 1.5k fun run, and a range of family runs including the Toddler Dash, Junior Run and Family Mile.

Alex Jackson of organisers the Great Run Company said: “It is Scotland’s biggest ever weekend of running.”
