Britvic blow: 240 jobs at risk as soft drinks giant moots closure of longstanding Norwich site

-

Soft drinks giant Britvic is set to shut its factory in Norwich, putting 240 jobs at risk. In a double blow for the city, Unilever has launched a review of its operations at the same site, putting a further 113 jobs at risk and potentially ending the 200-year-old ties with Norwich of Colman’s Mustard.

Britvis said it aims to transfer production of Robinsons and Fruit Shoot from the plant to sites in east London, Leeds and Rugby for significant “efficiency savings”. Under the current plans Britvic’s Norwich site is set to close in late 2019.
