Heart of Midlothian Sucker punch
My Hibs friend tweeted “Hearts at Dens, the gift that keeps giving”. On my last two visits we have lost in added time.
In an ordinary first half Hearts failed to defend a simple corner. We looked much better after the break and deserved our equaliser. I was mentally rehearsing “new-found resilience” for this article, scenting a potential win, until the sucker punch reprise of the first goal. Our problems on the left side continue. Michael Smith is okay defensively but we miss a genuinely leftfooted player going forward. Isma had a mixed game, but we lack alternatives and playing Buaben at centre-back highlights our squad limitations. It was a difficult game for Cochrane, but great to see a 16-year-old start.
