Miami Nice: British construction group Balfour Beatty wins plum Florida contract
Balfour Beatty, the UK infrastructure company, has won a $260 million (£193m) contract to build the River Landing Shops and Residences project in Miami for real estate investment trust H&R REIT and Urbanx Company in association with real estate developer Matthews Southwest. The projectoneightacresalongthe Miami River, artist impression pictured, will offer two million sq ft of retail and residences in Miami’s civic centre. Balfour Beatty boss Leo Quinn said the project would be “transformational” for the area.
