AB-listed Georgian Gothic-style house, close to Loch Linnhe, which has just launched on the sales market, has more potential that meets the eye.

The current Kinlochlaich House in Appin in Argyll, dates from around 1800, although some parts are thought to have much earlier origins.

It has retained many of its original romantic features, including impressive turrets, ornate cornicing and beautiful cathedral windows, and is set in an acre of mature grounds.

But Kinlochlaich isn’t a vast country pile which would require a team of servants to run.

The building has actually been split into handier parcels, so as well as the five-bedroomed house there are three individual apartments – two with two bedrooms and one with one bedroom – offering huge potential to the buyer to reap the benefits of additional income via year-round or holiday letting.

It would equally suit an extended family as a permanent or holiday home, if you could handle sharing the space with relatives. Carl Warden, of Bell Ingram, says: “Kinlochlaich House offers potential buyers an opportunity to purchase their own piece of history.

“It is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Loch Appin and the nearby hills, within easy driving distance of Oban.”
