Big names in the line-up for Book Week Scotland
Tennis coach Judy Murray, conservationist John Lister-kay, food writer Sue Lawrence and Mcilvanney award-winner Denise Mina will be among the authors taking part in Scotland’s annual celebration of books and literature.
Crime writers Val Mcdermid and Christopher Brookmyre, and 2016 Booker nominee Graeme Macrae Burnet are also all taking part in Book Week Scotland, which runs from 27 November-3 December.
Matthew Fitt, the writer adapting JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books into Scots, will be giving special readings, while a signed copy by the author of the second novel in the series will be auctioned off.
The programme will also feature a writing workshop with former Scots Makar Liz Lochhead and an insight into awardwinning author Bernard Maclaverty’s career.
The Scottish Book Trust, which stages the annual initiative, has a theme of “nourish” for 2017, encompassing food and culture, health, wellbeing, identities and traditions.
