Queen of the South Inexplicable decision
After the erratic performances of last season’s first choice Lee Robinson, it was hoped our goalkeeping woes would be put to bed with the summer signing of the highly-rated Alan Martin.
After a promising League Cup campaign he limped off in the season opener against Brechin, before playing in every subsequent league game bar one, which he missed due to illness. Despite this there have been concerns over his fitness, and in a interview on Saturday he confirmed he hadn’t trained since the Brechin game. The decision to play an unfit, injured player has been met with anger by the fans. It’s unfair on Martin and his understudy Jack Leighfield who has done well in the games he’s been involved in. It really is an inexplicable decision by the manager.
