A host of Scotland’s leading visual artists are to feature in a major new festival inspired by the life and work of Robert Burns.

Douglas Gordon, David Mach, Calum Colvin, Adrian Wiszniewski and Kenny Hunter will be in the lineup for Burns Unbroke, which will be staged at the Summerhall arts centre in Edinburgh.

The multi-arts festival, will feature an “Alternative Burns Night,” a live music programme, spoken word events and children’s shows. Although the festival will start on Burns’s birthday on 25 January and will run until 10 March, most events will be staged over the opening weekend.

Arts consultancy Artruist has joined forces with Summerhall to stage Burns Unbroke, which has had £60,000 worth of backing from the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland.
