Social ticket platform in key deal with Ticketmaster
An Edinburgh start-up letting people book event tickets as a group but pay individually has struck a landmark global deal with Ticketmaster.
Make it Social, which is based in incubator Codebase in the Scottish capital and already provides its service for the likes of Scottish Rugby Union games, said the agreement with Ticketmaster will extend its reach to the latter’s platforms in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
The ticketing company is the largest globally with 12,000 cli- ents across 28 countries. “The international integration of the Scottish company’s solution to social booking marks a major milestone for Make it Social,” said the start-up, which was founded in 2013 and has 13 staff. In February it said it had partnered with the musical Wicked to launch the West End’s first social booking service.
Eddie Robb, founder and chief executive of Make it Social, said: “Working with Ticketmaster is a fantastic opportunity.”
