Nissan reveals Nismo version of Leaf electric car
Nissan has taken the covers off its Leaf Nismo concept ahead of the car’s official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of the month. The all-new Leaf features the very latest technology, including Nissan’s Propilot Park system, which will automatically control the accelerator, brakes and steering to park the car autonomously. The car’s new e-pedal also means drivers can start, accelerate, decelerate, stop and hold the car by operating only the accelerator. This latest edition has also been breathed on by Nismo, Nissan’s in-house tuning division. It now benefits from an aerodynamically enhanced exterior, which produces less lift without compromising the Leaf’s excellent drag coefficient. The Leaf Nismo has also been given sporttuned suspension and high-performance tyres, as well as a customised computer software system designed to give better acceleration. However, Nissan has yet to release any official performance figures for the Leaf Nismo – though it’s likely to be quicker than the standard car. Inside, the car has Nismo’s signature red accents, giving the Leaf’s interior a distinctly sportier look. The new Nissan Leaf Nismo is set to make its first official public appearance at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of this month.
