Nicola’s turn

-

Theresa May came rather unstuck at her party’s conference, particularly due to a sore throat. Now it is the turn of Nicola Sturgeon to address her faithful followers. She faces even greater challenges than Mrs May.

2017 has been a bad year for the Scottish National Party. Education, Brexit, the Police, the NHS, the economy and unfair taxation all being problems. The relatively poor showing in the general election was the outcome. Then there is the biggest albatross around Ms Sturgeon’s neck – independence. Her party faithful will expect something positive on that front and the electorate at large, something negative. The SNP may try to blame Brexit and Westminster for all these ills but their excuses are sounding hollow. It might well be that a dose of laryngitis could be the best outcome for Ms Sturgeon– at least then she could pick up the sympathy vote.
