‘Case for independence has never been greater’
THE case for independence has never been greater, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon declared – but she said setting a date now for a second referendum would be “premature”.
In a TV interview, Ms Sturgeon was dismissive of the claim by Theresa May that the Conservatives had saved the union. “I think it’s called clutching at straws,” she said.
And she went on: “When I watch the utter chaos now engulfing the UK, when we see the implications of Brexit – that slow motion car crash that is developing right now – then actually the case for Scotland being in control of our destiny, having control over the decisions that shape our lives, has arguably never been greater and that’s a case I will continue to make.”
