Large blaze breaks out on industrial estate

Around 30 firefighte­rs have been tackling a large blaze at a property in Lanarkshir­e.

Emergency services were called to premises at Castlehill Industrial Estate in Carluke at about 1:20pm on Sunday.

High-powered hoses are being used to contain the flames, with eight fire engines at the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoma­n said: “There have been no reports of casualties.”

The spokespers­on added: “Two appliances were sent out with a third fire engine being called shortly after.
