A former director at Edinburgh-based estate agency Rettie & Co has launched his own eponymous consultancy with two “significant” office developments.

Will Scarlett formerly headed up the land, development and residential investment team at Rettie & Co and will continue to work with the firm on various existing development sites and land along the east coast of Scotland.

Scarlett Land and Development is also based in the capital and its first two sales are being conducted with his former employer on behalf of a London-based property fund. They comprise Forth House and Playfair House, a pair of connected office buildings in Edinburgh city centre.

Forth House, currently occupied by Forth Radio, is a category B-listed townhouse on Forth Street, while Playfair House is a modern office development on Broughton Street Lane currently occupied by Curo Compensation, the Humanist Society, Social Investment Scotland and Wallace Whittle.

The new company is also jointly marketing a number of land deals including the former Forth Bridges Hotel site in South Queensferry, consented for up to 125 homes, the Touchill Farm development at Plean, with planning consent for 167 units, and Beechmount, a mansion house in Corstorphine set in eight acres with planning permission for a hotel.

Scarlett said: “I’m looking forward to working with landowners, property companies and funds to manage the sale and purchase of sites and developments.” 0 Will Scarlett is debuting with the sale of two offices
