Strepsil diplomacy

While I am no supporter of Theresa May, I was disappointed to see our First Minister making a mockery of her unfortunate coughing fit at her party conference

by showing a cough remedy before her speech to the SNP conference. Poor taste indeed! No need to mock the afflicted.

Your photograph of Nicola Sturgeon, smirking and holding up a packet of Strepsils (Scotsman, October 11), simply underlines the fact that she has no idea how to behave and is sadly lacking in decency. Her behaviour was crass.

Theresa May battled on against the odds with a nasty throat problem and instead of trying to make fun of her, the First Minister should have shown a little compassion.
