#MALKYMACKAY In a friendly game between two sides that didn’t qualify for the World Cup, Malky Mackay will take charge of Scotland against the Netherlands in November. Mackay was accused of sending inappropriate text messages while manager of Cardiff City in 2014.

@Warrenhaughton

commented: “They say time is the great healer - Malky Mackay placed in charge of Scotland for friendly against Holland on November 9”

@dwright75 offered: “Nothing like international football to test your race relations. Malky Mackay will have to choose his words carefully”

@mhendry92 said: “I unequivocally do not want Malky Mackay as Scotland’s next permanent boss. Friendly vs. Holland – regardless of score – won’t change that”

@alibali76 added: “Will be amazed if Malky Mackay gets Scotland gig permanently. SFA have ample time to get this one right and source a wide field”

#BREXIT

Support for Brexit has fallen to its lowest point since the referendum, according to a poll. A Yougov survey found that just 42 per cent of voters now think Britain was

right to back Brexit.

@Jackmaizels said: “Only one poll, but there does seem to be a wider shift towards ‘wrong to leave the EU’ after April this year”

@kayaburgess commented: “Looking at the polling graph. Public opinion on Brexit is all over the place. Looks like an Etch-a-sketch exploded”

@Simontilford observed: “Just quickly checked websites of most of EU’S leading Continental newspapers & #Brexit impasse barely noted. Britain is arguing with itself ”

@Al_tomyfriends

responded: “For most EU citizens it’s of passing interest at best. The Irish, though, have more skin in the game. Unfortunately”

#PHILIPHAMMOND

Asked if Prime Minister Theresa May has confidence in her chancellor, her office replied that they have a “very good working relationship.” Not everyone is convinced.

@jmendelsohn77 offered: “If he was a football manager, he’d have been sacked by now with that many votes of confidence”

@Nifs added: “Prime Minister Theresa May has full confidence in Chancellor Philip Hammond, Downing Street has said. A curse or a blessing?”
