Dumbarton have defeated visiting Championship leaders St Mirren four times in the past two seasons but manager Stephen Aitken reckons that a fifth success would be their best achievement yet as Jack Ross is turning the Paisley club around.

Aitken said: “We have had a good record against St Mirren. This game is probably the hardest we will have against them. We had to play well to win the four that we have won but they were games during that time that they seemed to be in turmoil.”

Second-placed Dundee United head to Livingston with Tannadice manager Ray Mckinnon saying: “Livingston have been terrific so far so this will be a tough test. We will be on more experienced lines than the team that faced Linfield.”

Queen of the South return to Palmerston for only the second time in two months when they host Dunfermline, with Doonhamers manager Gary Naysmith convinced that the fans will see goals.

“Dunfermline are more likely to win 5-4 than lose 1-0 but we carry plenty of firepower as well,” he said.

New Falkirk boss Paul Hartley gets down to business with a home game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and he is looking to build on the period of stabilisation that Alex Smith brought to the Bairns.
