Hedda Gabler

Well known to Edinburgh Festival audiences for the last 20 years, the Belgian director Ivo Van Hove has recently become the toast of London; and now, his 2016 National Theatre production of Hedda Gabler hits the road, with Lizzy Watts in the title role. In London, the show was hailed as “bringing a new dimension” to the great tragic role of Ibsen’s heroine, driven to distraction by the thought of her future as a respectable wife and mother; and now, audiences in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow have a chance to see this muchdebated production for themselves.
