George Michael: Freedom
Commissioned last year as a celebration of George Michael’s life and career, the star, who had become something of a recluse, was actively involved in its making and narration before his unexpected death on Christmas Day 2016. Now re-edited and with an introduction from close friend Kate Moss, it is a tribute to one of pop music’s most successful artists. The 90-minute film follows the five-year period around the release of Listen Without Prejudice Vol1 in 1990 and includes his battle with Sony Music which ended up in the High Court. With contributions from Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Liam Gallagher, Nile Rodgers, Mary J. Blige, Tony Bennett, Tracey Emin, Mark Ronson, Jean Paul Gaultier and and many more. For a reminder of his talent, the programme is followed at 10:50pm by George Michael: Live In London.
