The National Lottery has turned into a disgrace. It is now ten games since the jackpot was won and players are turning their back in droves.

Since the extra ten numbers were added it has turned into a shambles. There needs to be an urgent review of this. Camelot was awarded the franchise in 2009 for ten years, which is far too long for any franchise to run – there should be something in place for it to be reviewed on its per- formance. I, like many others, have given up on something I enjoyed playing because the odds are ridiculously stacked against us.

What concerns me most is that many people in their attempt to chase this dream are becoming gambling addicts, and with their aggressive marketing Camelot are doing nothing to improve the situation.

I would encourage people to boycott the lottery and write to Karen Bradley, minister for digital culture media and sport, whose remit includes the lottery, to raise this matter. It should be returned to 49 numbers and £1 a ticket. GORDON KENNEDY Simpson Square, Perth
