‘Nearly men’ Kyles sign off with 5-3 victory

Kyles Athletic completed their Marine Harvest Premiership campaign, beating Glasgow Mid Argyll 5-3. Having battled Kinlochshiel for the title all season, Kyles fell just short. Doubles by Roddy Macdonald and Ross Macrae gave Kyles both points despite Sandy Mackenzie’s late dismissal.

Newtonmore go third after beating Oban Camanachd 5-0, with goals by Neil Stewart, Michael Russell, Evan Menzies a Matt Rippon own goal and Glen Mackintosh. Fraser Watt’s goal sealed Inveraray’s 2-1 win over Oban Celtic in their Marine Harvest National Division clash.

Lochside Rovers secured the Marine Harvest South Division 1 championship by beating the Kyles Athletic seconds 8-0 at Ganavan.
