Man due in court after body found
A murder victim found in an Edinburgh flat is understood to have been dead for some time.
Police discovered the woman’s body at the weekend in a building near the Scottish Parliament. Detectives launched a major investigation and have charged a 52-year-old man with murder.
Specialist forensic teams are now working to try and identify the victim. A postmortem examination is being carried out to establish the cause of death.
Police discovered the woman’s body at the flat in Dumbiedykes Road at around 10am on Saturday. The man was detained shortly afterwards and later charged. He was expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
