Man in court over alleged murder bid

A man has appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a 37-year-old man.

John Hardie, 34, of Cumbernaul­d in North Lanarkshir­e, was accused of the attack which took place in the Port Dundas area of Glasgow.

The attack happened on 18 May.

He faces a charge of attempted murder and three charges of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Hardie made no plea and was remanded in custody.

It is expected that he will appearagai­natalaterd­ate.
