Fatal crash victim named by police

A woman who died in a car crash in the Borders has been named by police.

Officers at Police Scotland said that Joan Mellors, 86, from Peebles, died after the silver Honda Jazz shewasdrivingoverturned and landed in a field.

The accident happened on the A701 near West Linton on 11 October.

An 84-year-old female passenger was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward or phone them on 101.
