She floats like a bird in the sky: Annual balloon festival to honour the Armenian capital city

A hot air balloon takes to the skies yesterday during the annual balloon festival in honour of the 2,799th birthday of the Armenian capital, as Mount Ararat is seen in the background.

Balloons from around the world will cover the sky of Yerevan, creating a fabulous and memorable impression for all those present.

Fourteen balloon teams from Russia, Armenia, Lithuania and Bulgaria take part in this festival.

The main purpose of the festival is the contribution of development of tourism, small aviation and especially aeronautics in Armenia.
