Celtic History in the making
In the five weeks between Celtic’s Champions League sojourns to Munich and Paris, it will become clear if Brendan Rodgers can engrave “Centurions” above “Invincibles” on his side’s flawless Scottish crown. Celtic’s unspectacular victory over Dundee stretched their unbeaten domestic sequence to a 59 matches, leaving them just four hurdles away from breaking their own 100-year-old record.
Of those teams that lie in wait, Hibs and St Johnstone have already taken points off Celtic this season, while the resilient Aberdeen are neck and neck at the summit.
Meanwhile, Kilmarnock – who ended Willie Maley’s 62-game trailblazing run a century ago – have made Scottish football’s managerial appointment of the season in Steve Clarke.
