Hibernian Display deserved better

The result of the Aberdeen match was far more disappointing than the performance, which should have provided Hibs with a draw. One point was the least we merited on the balance of play. What didn’t assist was an inept performance from referee Steven Mclean, who failed to adequately punish the cynical tackling employed by an otherwise impressive Aberdeen side.

Still, confidence should remain high going into Saturday’s League Cup semi-final. Celtic’s unbeaten run has to end at some point and so the Hibs players should go out and play with the freedom and ambition they displayed at Parkhead recently, and just hope that we get that wee bit of luck you need to beat the champions.
