Grandpa’s Great Escape to Govan: Best-selling children’s book is turned into Christmas special

Actor Tom Courtenay films Grandpa’s Great Escape in Govan yesterday. Based on the original best selling children’s book of the same name by David Walliams the show is due to air on BBC over Christmas. The book has been a best seller and had led to Walliams being compared to Roald Dahl as a children’s fiction author.

He has sold more than 12.5 million copies of his books translated into 46 languages.
