Protesters march over bomb attack

-

Thousands of protesters have gathered at a stadium in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu in a show of defiance after the country’s deadliest attack killed more than 300 people.

Officials shared a detailed account of how Saturday’s truck bombing was carried out. They said two people had been arrested.

Marching protesters chanted slogans against the extremist group alshabab, which Somalia’s government blames for the attack. Nearly 400 people were wounded.

Mogadishu’s mayor urged the crowd to “liberate our country from alshabab, so that such tragedies won’t happen again”.
