EU’S big mistake

-

The Member States of the European Union are lining up at the European Commission in protest over the number of migrants coming into Europe.

Austria is now on course to have a young right-wingnetwork er, Sebastion Kurz, as its next leader. He campaigned on an anti-immigration policy. Italy is using its navy to stop immigrant boats coming into Sicily, Hungary and Denmark have closed their borders to immigrants, and Germany has elected 98 anti-immigrant members to their Parliament.

The European Commission needs to take its head out of the sand and listen to its member states. If the EU had just given member states the right to control their borders then there could have been a different outcome to the European referendum, and it is even possible that the referendum would not have taken place.
