Few could argue with the general principles behind parliamentary boundary changes – “to ensure fair and equal representation for the voting public”. I suspect many would also argue that there are too many MPS (and MSPS) as it stands. Given that the SNP and Labour tout themselves as the parties of progress and fairness, why are they standing in the way of changes that deliver fairness and which represent a progressive change for the electorate? Could it be that they are thinking of the security of their comfortable Westminster jobs rather than the country as a whole?
