Moray Tory MP Douglas Ross will not take part in a debate and vote on universal credit, choosing to be an assistant referee at a Champions League game

-

He’s done more for Moray in the last few months than [Angus] Robertson ever did. At least Ross votes on behalf of his constituents, which is something Robertson never did, and that’s why he became history. – Calgacas This is the most woeful story I have read since Bill Shankly said football was more important than life or death. How sad that this intelligent man might believe that this be true. – ecky

I’m no fan of the Tories but, assuming he has a “pair” (in Parliamentary terms!) it won’t matter to the outcome that he misses the vote. – Deiger Time for some basic changes for politicians everywhere. 1) No second or third jobs. 2) At least five years realwork experience to be eligible. 3) Pay only for time actually on the job. – Mccoll It’s OK. Most Scots consider football to be more important than politics. – Persona Non Grata
