Morton Key man Quitongo
It wasn’t pretty, but it was a huge three points. Prior to the international break, ’Ton suffered back-to-back defeats but were determined to respond against a Brechin side who have had a difficult start in the Championship.
Morton set up with a 4-4-2 formation, with Jai Quitongo featuring on the left side of midfield. However, as they broke forward with pace, it quickly developed into a threatening 4-3-3 with Jai supporting Bob Mchugh and Robert Thompson.
It was a system that City struggled to live with, though it took until the 81st minute to finally break the deadlock. Andrew Murdoch found the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the area to secure an important victory.
