Messi hits century mark as Collum sends off Pique

Lionel Messi scored his 100th goal in European competitio­n to lead ten-man Barcelona to a 3-1 victory at home to Olympiakos in the Champions League.

Messi hit the century mark in 122 European matches when he curled a free-kick over the wall in the 61st minute.

After Barcelona had gone ahead thanks to an own goal by Dimitris Nikolaou in the 18th minute, the hosts went a man down when scottish referee Willie Coll um sent off Gerard Pique for a second booking. However, Barcelona continued to outclass Olympiakos despite playing with ten men.

Messi also had a hand in Barca’s third, providing the pass for left-back Lucas Digne to score in the 64th. Nikolaou scored Olympiakos’ consolatio­n goal in the 90th minute.

Meanwhile, in Celtic’s group, PSG won 4-0 at Anderlecht, where Edinson Cavani scored in his seventh Champions League match in succession.

Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel di Maria were also on target as PSG made it three victories in a row in the group.

Having scored 12 times so far, they are the only team in the competitio­n yet to concede, while Anderlecht are still seeking their first goal and their first point.
