Man jailed for historical abuse of a child
A predator who molested a girl on the day of her first Holy Communion after subjecting her to years of abuse has been jailed for four- and- a- half years.
James Grahames, 55, was given a prison sentence in a ruling handed down at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday. His victim, aged four to seven years at the time of the attacks, confrontedhim as an adult woman over the abuse.
Mr Grahames, formerly of Airdrie, was found guilty of indecency towards a child between 1 January, 1979 and 30 June, 1983 at an address in his North Lanarkshire home town.
