Man suffers serious head injury in attack

Police are hunting a gang of youths who left a man in hospital with a serious head injury.

The 46- year-old was involved in an altercation with a group of about five people in Lime Street in the Whiteinch area of Glasgow at around 4: 30pm on Wednesday.

The victim walked away, but was followed into Dumbarton Road where an object was thrown at his head. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.

Detectives are checking CCTV and appealing for any witnesses.
