Pipeline specialist is bought out by Seanamic

A pipeline integrity specialist operating from officesin Aberdeen and Houston has been bought for an undisclose­d sum.

Flex life has been taken over by Seanamic Group, which is backed by the Piper J affray-managed Simmons Private Equity II fund. It has acquired the share capital of Flexlife’s trading businesses in both the UK and US.

The company uses its patented monitoring and repair technologi­es to maximise the performanc­e of critical subsea assets. Its systems are being used globally.

Flexlife’s chief executive Garry Millard, who joined the business in 2014, said: “Beingpart of the S ea namic Group opens Flex life up to a new and invigorati­ng future. We can go forward confident of financial stability.”

Founded in 2014, Seanamic Group comprises Caley Ocean Systems, IMES Internatio­nal and Umbilical s Internatio­nal, and servesthe internatio­nal energy, defence and seismic industries. It employs more than 120 people in the UK and Houston.
