Jags predicament ‘worrying’ says Cerny

Tomas Cerny fears Partick Thistle will not be able to pull off their latest escape act if their slump continues for much longer.
The Jags sit bottom of the table without a win from nine games so far, a familiar picture for the Maryhill men, who found themselves propping up the Ladbrokes Premiership at Christmas last year yet still managed to battle into the top six for the first time in 36 years.
This time, however, Cerny, pictured, admits the situation is fast becoming critical after his side’s lacklustre displays against Motherwell and fellow strugglers Kilmarnock.
Speaking ahead of Dundee’s visit this afternoon, he said: “It’s worrying because our last two games were so disappointing.
“If you had asked us a few weeks back were we concerned, I don’t think we would have because our performances against Rangers and Hearts were good and we could still say we were positive and upbeat.
“But we cannot just keep saying we’ll be fine – because the last couple of weeks were not fine.
“We didn’t play well enough and that has to change even just to give ourselves a chance to win the game. “If we play like we did in the last two games it will be very difficult to get anything out of any match.
“But we know that has to change.”
