Diver in hospital after being rescued from sea

-

A diver has been airlifted to hospital after being rescued from the Sound of Mull.

Crew on the dive vessel raised the alarm after the man surfaced unconscious around 11:20am yesterday.

Tobermory lifeboat recovered the diver from the water just off the Isle of Mull. He was then taken by coastguard helicopter to Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban about 25 miles away. The driver’s condition was unknown last night.

A diver died last year while exploring a pre-second World War shipwreck in the same area.
