Travel travails

-

Let us hope that those responsible for road works study the research noted in your report of 23 October. Although my job satisfaction was not affected by the 30 minutes a day added to my commute over many years for the still-to-appear Leith tram, it was very, very annoying! Many current commuters are facing longer journeys because of roadworks – the research would indicate this has a very adverse effect on their wellbeing.

Your report mentions that “every extra minute of commuting time reduces both job and leisure satisfaction, increases strain and worsens mental health”.
