Lifetime ban for man who hit and starved puppies

-

An Airdrie man has received a lifetime ban from owning animals and been fined £2,600 after hitting and starving two sick puppies in his care.

Christopher Gorman, 54, from Plains, was sentenced at Airdrie Sheriff Court yesterday following a Scottish SPCA investigation.

He was found guilty of failing to provide veterinary treatment to two mastiff pups that were suffering from parvo virus. He also deliberately struck the dogs in his care with a piece of wood and failed to prove shelter, warmth and access to food and water for the animals.
