Hibernian Killed by caution
The League Cup semi-final was lost in the firsthalf as a result of some poor defending and suspect goalkeeping. This doesn’t tell the whole story of Hibs’ opening period performance though, which was cautious and showed our opponents too much respect, especially considering how well we had played at Parkhead just a few weeks ago. By the time changes had been made and we began to put Celtic under pressure, we had given ourselves a mountain to climb.
However, at least the team eventually gave the fans something to cheer, and it should be remembered that Celtic’s fourth goal came from a breakaway following a corner for Hibs in the last few minutes. Nevertheless, the better team won over the 90 minutes.
