Woman dies after A9 car crash with lorry

A woman has died after a crash between a lorry and a Smart car.

Emergency services were called to a collision on the A9 near Alvie, near Avie - more, at around 6: 45pm on Tuesday.

The incident involved a Smart Fortwo and an HGV.

A 58- year-old woman, who had been behind the wheel of the car, suffered fatal injuries. The lorry driver was uninjured.

Police Scotland carried out a full collision investigation and diversions were put in place.

Officers urged anyone with information about the incident to call 101.
