Dundee United Out of his depth
It’s easy with hindsight to say that the appointment of Ray Mckinnon was a gamble. It has, however, proved to be a losing wager with the manager clearly out of his depth tactically and in player recruitment.
The nadir was reached in Saturday’s capitulation against Inverness. I have rarely witnessed such a poor performance by a United team at home with the tactical “masterstroke” of replacing a winger with a holding midfielder to play right- back and putting your centre- half up front with half an hour to go being the point when the manager lost the majority of the home support. That his final dismissal and the appointment of his successor has become a soap opera is a telling indictment of the running of the club.
