EU funding boost for ocean energy
Three pioneering ocean energy schemes based at Scotland’s flagship marine power testing centre in Orkney have won European backing.
The three projects are among six approved for funding by the Foresea programme, an € 11 million initiative that helps offshore renewable energy technologies to market by providing free access to worldleading test facilities.
Scottish energy minister Paul Wheelhouse said the announcement is further proof Scotland is a“global player” in marine power.
