CAIXINHA’S 11 SIGNINGS

-

BRUNO ALVES

The Portuguese defender complained about Motherwell’s over-physical approach after losing to them in the Betfred Cup and has rarely looked comfortable in the Premiership.

DALCIO The winger’s only start since joining on loan from Benfica was in the 1-0 first leg victory over Progres Neiderkorn in July. His only appearance since the defeat in Luxembourg was as an 89th-minute substitute in the 4-1 win at Hamilton last month.

FABIO CARDOSO

Another Portugese centre-back who has struggled to adapt to life in Scotland, he missed the Kilmarnock game after having his nose broken in a clash with Motherwell’s Ryan Bowman in the Betfred Cup semi-final.

ALFREDO MORELOS

Eight goals from 15 games looks like a decent return for the Colombian but two came against Dunfermline and another five against relegation candidates Ross County, Dundee and Partick Thistle. Now gone six games without scoring.

DANIEL CANDEIAS

One goal – against Dunfermline – in 15 appearances for the journeyman winger (Rangers are his 13th club in seven years), whose missed penalty proved costly against Kilmarnock on Tuesday.

CARLOS PENA

Caixinha’s most expensive signing has made just five starts. The Mexico midfielder looks sluggish and was anonymous (and substituted) when it mattered most, against Celtic and Motherwell at Hampden.

EDUARDO HERRERA

The Mexican has nine caps for his country but the striker hasn’t started since the opening weekend of the Premiership. Came off the bench to score against Ross County and Partick Thistle.

AARON NEMANE

The 20-year-old winger, on loan from Manchester City, has not matched the impact of clubmate Patrick Roberts at Celtic. Yet to start a game and was culpable at Kilmarnock’s stoppage-time equaliser on Tuesday.

GRAHAM DORRANS

Five goals in 13 games for the 30-year-old signing from Norwich, who has flattered to deceive. Another experienced player who failed to make an impression against Celtic and who also faded out of the game at Hampden on Sunday.

RYAN JACK

The former Aberdeen captain has picked up three red cards (and one yellow) in just 13 games, which suggests the 25-year-old is struggling to cope with the expectations at Ibrox. Was sent off three times also for Aberdeen – but in 249 appearances.

DECLAN JOHN

The 22-year-old left-back, on loan from Cardiff City, has looked good going forward and scored twice against Hamilton. Has occasionally been caught out of position.
