The ANZAC legend: Mounted troops visit hallowed ground in Australian history

The servicemen had arrived for a re-enactment of the historical fight of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) mounted division that helped capture the area fromtheottomanempireduring the First World War.
Hundreds of Australians arrived in Israel for a weeklong visit to participate in the 100-year anniversary marking the decisive victory of the British Army and ANZAC forces in the Battle of Beer Sheva, which resulted in the city’s conquest.
