Man charged for driving at twice the speed limit
A man has been charged after allegedly driving at 124mph in a 60mph zone.
Police stopped the Renault on the A68 near the Cousland junction in Dalkeith, Midlothian, about 3:20pm on Saturday.
Officers have charged a 26-year-old man with speeding and said he will be reported to the procurator-fiscal.
Trunk roads policing inspector Roddy Macmillan said: “Excessive or inappropriate speed is one of the main contributors to serious injury and fatal road collisions and such negligent driving behaviour will not be tolerated.”
