Dundee Losing patience

- Gary Cocker

At 4:30pm on 21 October, Dundee were eight points clear of Partick Thistle. After two late goals at Firhill and consecutive home defeats by Motherwell and Hamilton, we’re now two points behind them and bottom of the league.

I’m a patient man and we have been unlucky at times, but bad luck doesn’t explain away zero clean sheets this season. The number of soft, preventable goals conceded is astounding, and using 19 different players over two games doesn’t scream confidence at a time when the best starting 11 and formation should have been identified. It’s still slightly too early to panic and make drastic changes, but I can’t blame fans for being irked at our leaky defence and inability to recruit replacements for Stewart and Hemmings more than a year since their sale.
